Scroll animation for developers
Drive animation with scrolling. Read trigger markers, decide what each crossing does, scrub a drawing, pin a chapter stage and layer a hero without moving the words.
ScrollTrigger decisions for everyday pages: start and end positions, toggle actions, scrub, pinning and parallax layers. Horizontal scroll, snapping, smooth-scroll libraries and WebGL are outside this course.
Fit a lab into a lunch break or stay for a spare hour. Progress is saved so you can come and go. Labs need a laptop or desktop; the outline is available on any device.
Included with the Course pass or The Vault. Each learner needs their own account and access.
The curriculum
6 practical labs.
Decisions you can use.
Every lesson starts with a short principle and a page that needs work. You make the changes. The feedback tells you which relationships work and what to try next.
By the end, you can
- Read and set ScrollTrigger start and end positions
- Choose all four toggle actions deliberately
- Scrub progress with a sensible runway and smoothing
- Pin a stage with spacing and readable chapter timing
- Layer parallax without moving the text
Basic HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and a first look at GSAP tweens. Motion design for developers is recommended preparation; no ScrollTrigger experience needed. Use a laptop or desktop with a browser window at least 1024px wide. Work at your own pace; there is no timer.
- 01Start where it can be seen7 min
- 02Decide what happens on the way back7 min
- 03Tie it to the thumb7 min
- 04Hold the stage8 min
- 05Move layers at different speeds7 min
- 06A fresh brief12 min
Proper interaction.
Scroll a live page with real ScrollTrigger markers. Drag start and end lines on a viewport schematic, build the toggle-actions sentence, drag chapter keyframes on a pin track, set layer speeds and inspect the generated GSAP. Every drag has keyboard controls.
A completion record.
Pass the practical checks in each lab to create an optional certificate with your name and a verification link. This records course completion; it is not an accredited qualification.
For you, or your team.
